12 Days Culinary Italy Journey
Day 1 — USA / MILAN. Tour members gather at the ticket counter at the airport three hours prior to our departure to Milan. Dinner and breakfast are served in-flight.
DAY 2 – MILAN / ARRIVAL. Arrival at Milan airport. Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3 – MILAN. Following breakfast we enjoy a half-day panoramic city tour including the Duomo with its Square, the Scala Theatre, the elegant street Corso Vittorio Emanuele, etc. In the afternoon possibility to have a cooking class for a typical Milanese meal. Dinner and overnight
DAY 4 – MILAN / BARDOLINO / VERONA / PADUA. After breakfast we continue on to Verona with a stop in Bardolino, famous for the production of wine and visit to a winery with tasting. Arrival in Verona where we’ll visit (with local guide) the city of Romeo and Juliet, including Juliet’s balcony, the famous Arena, the ornate tombs of the Scaligeri family and the Church of St.Zeno. On to Padua. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 – PADUA / VENICE / PADUA. Breakfast. Visit to the Basilica of St. Anthony and on to Venice. Transfer to Venice Island with private boat. Arrival. Half-day panoramic tour (with local guide) including St.Mark’s Square and St.Mark’s Basilica, Bridge of Sighs and Dodge’s Palace (exterior). Back to Padua for dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 6 – PADUA / REGGIO EMILIA / BOLOGNA / FLORENCE. Breakfast. On to Reggio Emilia where we'll visit the Consorzio of Parmigiano Reggiano, the most famous and prestigious Italian cheese in the world. On to Bologna where we'll visit the Gelato Museum for a wonderful artisan icecream experience. On to Florence. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 – FLORENCE / PISA / FLORENCE. Breakfast. We’ll explore the city during a half-day panoramic city tour (with local guide) including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio etc. On to Pisa where we’ll see the incredible Leaning Tower and the Cathedral in the Square of Miracles. Back to Florence. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 8 – FLORENCE / SIENA / ASSISI. Breakfast. On to Siena where we’ll have a visit (with local guide) to see the architectural wonders of this beautiful town, including the Cathedral and Piazza del Campo where the “Palio” is held every year. We'll have a wine and typical products tasting. Depart to Assisi where we’ll visit (with local guide) the city centre and the Basilicas of St. Clare and St. Francis. Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 9 – ASSISI / NAPLES. Breakfast. Depart to Naples. Arrival and time to visit this beautiful city in the South of Italy. Here we have a Pizza class followed by Dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 10 – NAPLES / POMPEI / ROME. Breakfast. Depart to Pompei. Arrival and panoramic visit (with local guide) to the Ancient Ruins preserved by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79. Next we continue our journey, arriving in Rome for dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 11 – ROME. Breakfast. Panoramic city tour (with local guide) seeing Colosseum, Roman Forum, Baths of Caracalla, Tiber Island, Castel Sant’Angelo etc. In the afternoon we’ll have a tour on foot (with local guide) including Piazza Navona, Roman Pantheon, Trevi Fountain. We end our tour with a typical Roman dinner with live music. Overnight.
DAY 12 – ROME / DEPARTURE. After breakfast, according to your flight departure time, transfer to the airport.
