10 Days Spiritual Italy

DAY 1: U.S.A. / EUROPE.  Tour members will depart to Venice.  Dinner will be served aboard the flight.

DAY 02: ARRIVE VENICE / MESTRE. Upon our arrival at the airport we will be met and transferred to our hotel.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 03: VENICE. After a good breakfast we will have a full day tour of Venice, including St. Mark’s Cathedral, Dogges Palace and the Academy of Fine Arts.  Time at leisure in the afternoon for an optional gondola ride.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Mestre.

DAY 04: MESTRE / FLORENCE. Today, we travel to Florence across serene Tuscan countryside.  Along the way, we will stop in Verona or Ravenna (a UNESCO city full of art, history and spirituality).  We arrive in Florence—the city considered to be the cultural heart of Italy and former stronghold of the Medici family.

DAY 05: FLORENCE. Today we begin our beautiful trip by visiting the Piazza della Signoria, where the Neptune Fountain stands.  Then we visit the baptistery with its “Gates of Paradise” doors, and the Academia that houses the Michelangelo’s original statue of David.  We will also see the Santa Croce Church, the famous church where Dante, Michelangelo, Leonard da Vinci and many others are buried. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 06: FLORENCE / ASSISI / ROME. This morning we drive through the Autostrada del sole across the Roman countryside towards Rome.  Along the way, we will stop for a visit in Assisi.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Rome.

DAY 07:  ROME.  After breakfast wetourAncient Rome highlights including Appian Way, Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, Arch of Constantine, the Catacombs and Circus Maximus.  This afternoon is at leisure for activities of your own. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 08:  ROME.  After breakfast we visit The Vatican City including the Vatican Museum and Gallery, Raphael’s Rooms, the Sistine Chapel and St.Peter’s Basilica.  This afternoon is at leisure to see the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps or activities of your own.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 09:  ROME.  After breakfast we have a day of leisure to visit the city on our own.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 10: ROME/ U.S.A.  Early departure from Rome to the United States – the end of a most enjoyable journey.
